Benefits and Costs
The RMS Safer Drivers Course entitles learners to a 20 hour credit in their log book on completion of the course. The cost of the new course is $140 and can often be completed in one weekend. Participants must have completed a minimum of 50 Actual hours including night hours prior to starting the course and hold a valid NSW Learner licence.
The Safer Drivers Course aims to provide learner drivers with driving strategies such as speed management, gap selection, hazard awareness and safe following distances. The course also aims to help learners identify situations that will put them at greater risk of a crash and consider strategies that will help avoid them.
Red Car Driver Training is working in collaboration with Red Car Driving School in the Shoalhaven, Highlands Drivesafe in the Southern Highlands and Werri Driver Training in the Illawarra to deliver the course.
The Safer Drivers Course is available in Bomaderry/Nowra, Bowral and Kiama.
